I am not only a movie junkie but I am also a devoted bookworm, which is probably why I am so attracted to this movie. The second installment of the Hunger Games series is a total must watch due to a promising plot and a talented cast. The storyline follows the winners of the 74th Annual Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark as they become targets of the Capitol and spark a rebellion in the Districts of Panem. If you are interested in action, adventure and a little bit of romance, this should be at the top of you upcoming movies of 2013 list!

The second I saw the trailer for this movie, I was completely drawn in. There is no way you can ignore such a compelling plot with a ridiculously good looking cast. It’s almost a shame, if you don’t mark your calendar or pre-order the tickets. The movie revolves around a seemingly ordinary teenage girl, Clary Fray, who finds out the truth about her past and discovers the secrets of her bloodline that entirely change her life. Are you not persuaded to watch the movie yet? Watch the trailer immediately!

Do you remember that awkward transitional stage in your life when even figuring out who you are seems complicated? Are you going through it now? Well if that’s the case, this is definitely a movie that you will enjoy! The storyline follows three teenage friends, who in the ultimate act of rebellion decide to spend their summer isolated from land by building a house in the woods. This is one comedy of 2013 that you can’t miss out on!

In Theaters: 8/7/13
If you haven’t seen the first movie of the Percy Jackson series, stop now, go watch it and then come back! If you have, well you understand how good the first one was and how amazing the second one should be. I mean am I the only one who finds the idea of Greek Gods and Goddesses so enticing? I can’t be! This is why I think that the quest of the son of Poseidon and his friends to the Sea of Monsters to find the mythical Golden Fleece and stop an ancient evil would make such a great movie.

Main Cast: Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, and Will Yun Lee.
In Theaters: 7/26/13
I don’t know about you, but I am a big superhero fan. I can’t resist imagining what life would be like if we all had powers. How cool would it be, if we could teleport, levitate objects or even fly? It’s not that hard to imagine when you can live through it vicariously by watching The Wolverine! This movie follows Wolverine as he is summoned to Japan by an old acquaintance and gets involved in a conflict that forces him to face his own demons. Does this movie seem too dark for you? Don’t worry and give it a chance! I promise you won’t regret it.

Main Cast: Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Bacon.
In Theaters: 7/19/13
On a lighter note, my most anticipated comedy is R.I.P.D. The movie is about a dead cop who joins a team of undead police officers working for the Rest in Peace Department and tries to find the man who murdered him. The foundation of the movie is comedy so it is filled with hilarious one liners and memorable quotes. If I couldn’t wipe a smile off my face during the trailer, then the movie should keep me giggling the whole time.

Main Cast: Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, and Lili Taylor.
In Theaters: 7/19/13
I am not the one to say that I am a horror movie addict and that I can sit all night watching scary movies alone, because paranoia gets the best of me. But isn’t that what’s supposed to happen to you after a good scary movie? As scary as it is, I enjoy watching horror once in a while and that’s exactly why The Conjuring is on my watch list. The movie is about paranormal investigators, Ed and Lorraine who find themselves in the most terrifying case of their lives as they try to help a family get rid of a dark presence from their farmhouse. Despite the paranoia, I am definitely going to check this movie out.

Main Cast: Rachel McAdams, Margot Robbie and Bill Nighy.
In Theaters: 11/8/13
No matter what anybody says, everyone enjoys a good romantic movie, especially the one with Rachel McAdams. After the Notebook and the Vow, it seems like she is in every romantic movie that is worth watching, which is partially why I am so excited to see this movie. The story line revolves around Tim, who discovers that he can travel in time and change what happens or what has already happened in his life. He decides to make his world better by getting a girlfriend but he doesn’t realize that things come at a price. The trailer to this movie touched my heart that’s why I hope that the movie itself lives up to my high expectations.
Trailer on iTunes at: trailers.apple.com
Main Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins.
In Theaters: 11/8/13Like I have said before I am a huge Marvel fan so it’s no secret how excited I am for this movie. If you saw the first movie, you would understand my obsession. In the second installment of the series, Jane Foster is targeted by the denizens of the dark world of Svartalfheim and Thor makes it his mission to protect her no matter the cost. I think it’s refreshing that despite Thor’s fearless and powerful façade, Jane Foster is still Thor’s kryptonite.
Personally, I cannot wait to cross out all of these movies off my watch list. These are just my top choices among dozens of other movies that are coming out in 2013. Are there any other movies that deserve the attention? What are your top choices on your watch list? Please share!
