There are plenty of movies to get you excited for fall. Autumn is a wonderful time to watch movies. The weather's getting chillier, the nights are getting shorter, and the movies are getting spookier. Whether you're in the mood for a Halloween movie, or a romantic comedy known for its autumn scenery, there are movies to get you excited for fall on this list!
1. You've Got Mail
When I think of New York in the fall, I think of the New York Nora Ephron created in her movies, and You've Got Mail is the prime example. Although it takes place in every season, fall is definitely the most notable throughout the film. Accompanied with a superb soundtrack, You've Got Mail is one of the most perfect romantic comedies that features autumn as a third main character, and one of the best movies to get you excited for fall!
2. Good Will Hunting
Whether you're looking for some Robin Williams nostalgia or simply want a fall movie to curl up with, this is the right movie for you. Something about college campuses in the fall just scream stereotypical autumn, and I'm not complaining. Plus, there's the now-infamous scene between Matt Damon and Robin Williams on the park bench surrounded by the most beautiful autumn day. It's definitely not one to miss.
3. When Harry Met Sally
When Harry Met Sally is another classic Nora Ephron movie with a gorgeous fall setting. Nora Ephron was known for her walking and talking montages, and When Harry Met Sally is best known for its walking and talking montage on the most beautiful autumn day in New York. Even if you haven't seen the movie, you know the scene. It's perfect to get you in the mood for fall.
4. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
No matter your age, you will never be too old for It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. As someone who can barely handle a Disney Channel horror movie, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is one of my favorite Halloween movies. It's a simple classic, but it's one that you have to watch every autumn!
Whether you're a 90s kid who loved Halloweentown when it first came out, or you're a few years younger and haven't seen it yet, Halloweentown is a must to get in the mood for fall. Even though it's meant to be creepy and strange, you couldn't help but wish you could visit Halloweentown yourself. It's great for a bit of nostalgia, but it's also just a fun movie for Halloween!
6. The Lake House
Although I haven't seen The Lake House yet, it's been on my list for ages, simply for the scenery alone. Maybe I'm just a sucker for beautiful lake views, but I think this movie is perfect to get you into the autumn spirit!
7. P.S. I Love You
P.S. I Love You is a heartbreakingly beautiful movie, but it also features gorgeous views of Ireland in the fall. Whether you're in need of a cry or simply want to drool over Ireland in the fall, this movie should definitely be on your list to watch this fall!
