Along with all of the fun home-based festivities that the holiday season brings, something that is also becoming more of a tradition for people is going to the movies at Christmas time! The big studios usually hold back some of their biggest releases for this time of the year, and believe me when I say that 2018 looks set to be one of the best years ever for December drops! If you are thinking about going to the movies in the spare time that you get over this month, then make sure that you see at least of a couple of these films, set to be the must sees of December!
1. Sorry to Bother You
This is a directorial debut from Boot Riley, and it is being hyped as a razor sharp satire that focuses on the exploitations of modern capitalism. That might sound a little high brow, but trust me, you will love it! The central plot focuses on a black marketing worker who finds himself shooting up the career ladder when he adopts a white voice!
2. White Boy Rick
This is a biographical crime drama starring the one and only Matthew McConaughey. It tells the true story of Richard Wershe Jr, the youngest ever FBI informant at just 14 fourteen years of age.
3. Spider-Man: into the Spider Verse
Comic book movie lovers can get their December fix in the form of Spider-Man: Into The Spider Verse, an animated adventure starring the latest incarnation of everyone's favorite spidey sensed hero! It features the voice talents of Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, and Jake Johnson.
4. Aquaman
If you have been missing him in Game Of Thrones like I have, then you can get your Jason Momoa fix in Aquman this month! This latest DC adventure tells the origin story of the King of Atlantis' Seven Kingdoms, and if the trailers are anything to go by, it's going to be one hell of an action-packed ride!
5. Mary Poppins Returns
I can't wait for this one! One of the most anticipated movies of the year, Emily Blunt is braving the critics to take on one of the most famous roles of all time, Mary Poppins! This sequel is set thirty years after the beloved original, when Mary comes back to help the now grown Banks children with own broods. Get the tissues ready as this one is sure to make you cry!
6. Bumblebee
If you want a little Transformers fun after the Christmas dinner has been digested, then this spin-off is sure to hit the right spot. Starring John Cena, this one is set to a be a high octane fun fest that gives you lots of thrills and spills before the New Year celebrations begin!
7. Holmes & Watson
Sure, it's another Sherlock Holmes movie, but this one is set to be a little different, as Step Brothers duo Will Ferrell and John C Reilly are taking on the iconic roles!
