Some Like It Hot is listed #1 as AFI's Greatest American Comedy Film of All-Time. After witnessing a crime, two male instrumentalists, Joe and Jerry, need to flee town and the only way to do that is by hitching a ride and traveling incognito with an all-women band. The two men need to keep up the charade but with the beautiful Marilyn Monroe as the lead singer Sugar, it's hard to keep their feelings at bay. Joe takes on another disguise and wins over Sugar's heart but she believes he is a millionaire. The film is hilarious and definitely something you should check out. It's one of my favorite Marilyn Monroe movies.

2. There's No Business like Show Business

On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

I recently watched this movie with the hopes of finding a classic film and was shocked to find it was a Marilyn Monroe movie. I love when things like that happen. The story follows the Donahue Family, a show business family whose act may change over time but their love for show business never does. Marilyn Monroe enters as Vicky, the woman who wins over the son's heart but breaks up the Donahue act in the process.

3. All about Eve

On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

Co-starring with stars like Bette Davis, the young Marilyn Monroe gets a shot of theater in this film. Eve Harrington, played by Anne Baxter, appears as a fan of aged Davis' character Margo but slowly steals her fame away. Monroe enters as the young Miss Casswell, fresh to the field and nervous of never living up to the legacies of those around her. The movie is a classic and addresses touchy issues like aging and the toll that takes on your career, your passion.

4. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes

On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

Marilyn Monroe is known for her role in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Alongside Jane Russell, the two women travel to Paris to work as singers. They are followed by a private detective hired by Monroe's fiancu00e9's dad, wary that his son's girl is no good. If you want to find out what will happen then you should check this movie out for yourself!

5. The Prince and the Showgirl

On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

The Prince and the Showgirl is one of Monroe's later films. She stars as the showgirl who falls in love with a prince-regent. I first became aware of this film through the 2011 movie My Week with Marilyn, which tells the story of Colin Clark, a man who met and had a love affair with Marilyn. Both are great films that you should check out soon.

6. How to Marry a Millionaire

On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

Another one of Monroe's more famous films, How to Marry a Millionaire is worth a watch. Three women want to marry rich and in their search for millionaires, they stumble into true love. The dialogue is sharp and witty. In one scene Loco says, You don't think he's a little old? Schatze replies, Wealthy men are never old.

7. The Seven Year Itch

On iTunes at: itunes.apple.com

A romantic comedy, The Seven Year Itch is based on a play by George Axelrod. If you've ever seen the picture of Marilyn Monroe standing above a subway grate in a white dress, then you've seen a second of this story. This iconic image stems from the fabulous movie about a so far faithful husband who gets spellbound by the beautiful Monroe and threatens to break that fidelity.

Marilyn Monroe is a legend in film history for a reason. Her work is brilliant. What is your favorite Marilyn Monroe movie?
