There are so many important life lessons from Cristina Yang. She's one of the most dynamic characters on television and I don't know about you, but I'm still not over the fact that she won't be there anymore. Throughout ten seasons of Grey's Anatomy, Cristina's really become one of my favorite characters. She was really complex yet totally relatable at the same time. Check out some of the life lessons from Cristina Yang that I'm sure will be valuable forever!
1. When in Doubt, Dance It out
No problem is ever too big enough that a dance party can't fix it. Everyone should have a go-to song that you can just throw your hair down and jam out to! Dancing's a great way to work out all your problems. This is just one of the important lessons from Cristina Yang! What's your go-to 'dance it out' song?
2. Strive for Brilliance
Cristina's taught us that it's important to be ambitious. Set high goals for yourself and never give up until you achieve them. When you know your passion and your capabilities, there's nothing that you can't do. Always strive for brilliance! For Cristina, that earned her her very own hospital department. Impressive, huh?
3. Be Confident in Your Decisions
Once you make a decision, stick with it. Even the hard ones. You can't go around second-guessing everything that you do. Be confident in your decisions and know that everything happens for a reason!
4. Have a 'person'
We all need to have that one person whom we can count on no matter what. Cristina taught us that it's okay to need someone. It's okay to break down and talk hopes and dreams with your person.
5. Be Blunt
Why keep your mouth quiet and bottle up all of your emotions? Cristina taught us all that being straightforward and honest is the best thing you can do. There's no point in having a voice and not using it. Let your opinions and thoughts be heard and know that you can do that because you matter!
6. Thrive under Pressure
Cristina's taught us to never let our nerves get the best of us. Instead, use them to make yourself even better. Being under pressure makes you push yourself even harder. Once you push yourself to the fullest of your abilities, you can do whatever you set out to do. A lot of people tend to crack under pressure but not Cristina Yang! Remember when she performed surgery while being held at gunpoint? Talk about thriving under pressure.
7. Demand More
Cristina is not one to take less than she deserves. She would never let anyone treat her horribly and she would never let a good opportunity pass her by. Remember George O'Malley? She taught us all a very important lesson when she told him, "If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop accepting crap and demand something more." Amen, Cristina!
Well, there you have it. These are just seven out of many life lessons taught by Grey's Anatomy's Cristina Yang. I'm still having a tough time accepting the fact that Cristina Yang will no longer be a doctor at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital! However, these lessons will stay with me forever! What's the most important thing Cristina has taught you?
