When you think of who the best movie heroes are, do you think of characters like Batman, Superman, and Spiderman? Or do you consider characters like Katniss, Harry Potter, and Frodo - heroes because they are more relatable? You'll have to continue reading to find out who is on my list of best movie heroes. Who knows, it just might surprise you!
1. Star Wars (Luke, Han Solo, Princess Leia)
When the Princess gives you a gold medal for saving everyone, you just know your character is going to make the best movie heroes list! However, the guys aren't the only heroes in Star Wars, Princess Leia does a bit of ass kicking herself. Luke and Han Solo are there to rescue her, but she stands on her own after they free her. The three of them together bring down the Empire and win the hearts of each other as well as every nerd watching!","
2. Forrest Gump
He may not have been the brightest man, but he was the sweetest. Forrest Gump really shows movie goers what it means to be a hero and what it means to be a good person. With the love and encouragement of his mother and friend Jenny (when they were kids) Forrest went on to beat the odds and do things people said he couldn't. If you ever need inspiration and are feeling like a failure, watch Forrest save lives in the Vietnam War, keep his promise to his best friend Bubba, and make the lives of everyone around him better just by being his true self.","
3. Harry Potter
The Harry Potter movie series may be over, but along with the books that inspired them, they will always live on for future generations to enjoy. Could you imagine living with your horrible relatives and growing up unwanted, when one day everything turns around when you're told you are a wizard or a witch! Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, go on unimaginable adventures together, fighting evil sorcerers, larger than life snakes and dogs, and in the end the most evil character ever to live, Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter grows up right in front of our eyes and learns about courage, friendship, and trust even as he deals with these crazy, unexpected adventures. He is a hero that kids and teens can look up to and relate to, because inside he is the outcast who overcame his differences.","
4. The Lord of the Rings (Frodo)
There are so many heroes in The Lord of the Rings, you can't mention the movie without mentioning characters like Gandalf, Aragorn, Legolas, or Sam. However, Frodo is the true hero, and is the only one who can carry the task of destroying the ring. Of course, you can't go through life without the help of your friends, which is why we love Bilbo, Pippin, Merry, and the others as well. Frodo faces many challenges along the way, demons on the outside as well as on the inside, which is why he is my pick for the one true hero of this film series.","
5. North Country (Josey)
I posted my list of movie heroes in order of the year they were released however, if it was in order of who was the best out of the best, Josey would be my number one hero. Against all odds in a time when women were still unwanted in the workforce, North Country tells the inspired true story of the first major successful sexual harassment suit in the US. Even when the other women in the work place didn't want to stand by her in fear of losing their own jobs, Josey fought on to help women everywhere have a fighting, equal opportunity. As a woman who has worked at a male dominated job, this movie hits home and will always be an inspiring story to remind me how far women have come to reach the same status as men.","
6. The Help (Aibileen)
Skeeter may have come up with the idea for the book, but Aibileen and the other maids are the story and the push behind it. Aibileen didn't just stand up for equal rights, she also stood up for Mae Mobley and told her You is kind, you is smart, and you is important. The maids were raising their children to be better people, yet the parents had no respect for them and tried to pass that ugliness onto their children. We're all the same and Skeeter just wanted everyone to see that, so with the help and courage of Aibileen the truth came out.","
7. The Hunger Games (Katniss)
Katniss is a new type of hero who inspires young women to stand up and fight for what they believe in, even when the government is telling you differently. All throughout The Hunger Games Katniss goes against the restrictions put on the 12 districts by the Capitol. She hunts, provides for her family, and steps in for her sister even when she knows the odds are not in her favor and she may die. If you haven't seen this film or read the books, you are missing out!
